The story behind the ride:
John D. Mason was a Vietnam Veteran Bronze Star with Valor recipient who returned home, and for years to come silently struggled with depression and PTSD.

In 2013, he died by suicide. John left 5 suicide letters, “Get me to the VA so they can stop someone else.”

The Captain John D. Mason Veteran Peer Outreach Program was started in his honor to connect Veterans with mental and physical healthcare at the VA Hospital.
